BOARD OF ADVISORS
Carol Attfield JP trained at the Froebel
Educational Institute in Roehampton and has enjoyed a long and successful
career in local junior Education, in both the State and Independent sectors. Following
her Headship of two Primary Schools in the London Borough of Merton she
was appointed Head of Lytton House, the Junior Department of Putney High
School, from 1988 to 2003. Miss Attfield has a passion for excellence
in education, a wealth of relevant experience and a detailed knowledge
of the local educational scene.
Miss Attfield’s retirement allowed her to devote more time to her
role as a magistrate, and she is currently serving as Chairman of the
Bench at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court and Chairman of the London
Bench Chairmen’s Forum.
Laura Marani taught first at Faulkner House School and then for 23 years at Pembridge Hall where she was Deputy Head for nine years and then Head for a further nine. She has now retired from full time teaching but is still very involved in the educational world as a Governor of both Queensgate School and Notting Hill Prep.
Diana Watkins was chair of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) for the academic year 2008-09 and previously held the position of Vice Chairman. She has served on both the IAPS Education and Inspections committees. In January 2010 she retired as Head of Leaden Hall in Salisbury, where she had been for 16 years. She is a leading light in the development of modern independent education and is a passionate believer in the need to focus on early years teaching to create solid educational foundations.
