How does the PTA do this? The PTA relies on the goodwill and effort of pupils, school staff, parents and others to give their time to organise both social and fundraising events (not all events are held to raise money). The PTA is always looking for volunteers to help out with events. It doesn’t matter if you cannot help on a regular basis or if you can only give a small amount of your time. It really is a case of many hands make light work, so please let us know if you can lend a hand and get involved. What events has the PTA organised recently? During 2007 the PTA organised the Quiz Night in February, the Summer Party in June, the Cake Sale in November and the Christmas Fair in December (including Secret Santa, the tombola, the coffee/cake stall, the crystal rock stall and the advertising). How has the money been spent? The PTA takes advice from school staff about the most appropriate use of funds raised. We are always looking for new suggestions so please let us know if you think of something that could benefit from extra funding. Previous uses of fundraising proceeds include:
Our current goal is to cover the outstanding balance on the purchase of the Hurlingham School minibus. |
