At Hurlingham School we teach Financial Awareness as part of our PSHEE curriculum. In conjunction with NatWest Bank we have been using the MoneySense - Making sense of money resources to support our teaching and learning.
Making Sense of Money - Form II and Form V Financial Awareness Workshops
We are working towards becoming a MoneySense Accredited School as part of our commitment to teaching our pupils how to use money safely and responsibly. During this half term we have been joined by volunteers from NatWest who supported workshops attended by Forms II and V.
Form II learnt about how we use money, how it can be spent, saved or donated to charity. They also explored the difference between "needs" and "wants".
Form V became detectives as they solved a crime of fraud as part of their workshop to understand the dangers of identity theft and fraud.
All of the children received a MoneySense certificate and we are very grateful to the NatWest volunteers who joined us for the workshops.
The MoneySense website mymoneysense.com has a parents section where you can download activities to do at home. Your children can also explore a Virtual Bank to get used to the services in a real bank branch.
