When you choose a book to read, remember that the most important things are for you to enjoy a good story, find out some fascinating information or appreciate the art of a beautiful poem.
If you start a book and don’t enjoy it, make sure you have given it a good try but then feel free to change it and have a go at something different- maybe look for an alternative author, or a different genre. There are books which make us laugh, books that make us cry and books that grip us and make it impossible for us to put them down! We all have favourites… what we have to do is find them.(When Mr Brough started teaching- many, many, many years ago- the Head of that school used to insist that every child should find five words “impossible” on every page of the book they were reading! Isn’t that sad? We certainly don’t do that at Hurlingham!)
