Hurlingham Nursery School – fees per term

Children must do a minimum of four sessions per week.  In their final year of Nursery (the Pre-School year) children must attend a minimum of six sessions building up to a full-time basis, or close to it, by the end of the year.  This will help to help ensure they are ‘school-ready’.  Older children participating in our Forest School option will need to be in school for both morning and afternoon sessions on the allocated day for their group.

15 and 30 Hour Funding

We offer the government universal 15 hour funding, which provides funding for a nursery education place for up for 15 hours per week to all 3 and 4 year olds and an additional 15 hours funding for those who qualify (To check please visit https://www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-tax-free-childcare).  Children are eligible for the funding from the term after they turn 3. The child’s 3rd birthday needs to occur on or before March 31, August 31 and December 31 to be eligible for the funding from the following term.

We will apply to Wandsworth council on behalf of parents once a child is eligible. The funding provided does not cover the total cost of placing a child in our nursery school, therefore we charge an additional hours and services package. The additional services charge is due to the cost of: providing qualified staff of a high calibre; maintaining a smaller teacher to child ratio; the provision of peripatetic staff to deliver extra-curricular activities including sport, music/drama, yoga, gymnastics, karate and dance, in addition to Forest School; and providing hot lunches, snacks and other consumables. The funded hours are offered between 8am and 3.45pm each day.

In order to assist parents, it is our intention to continue to participate in this scheme.  However, we are not able to guarantee this indefinitely, as the regulatory complexity and administrative burden for the school increases periodically and may become too onerous.

Notice of Withdrawal

We require one full term’s notice in writing to the Head on or before the first day of term of the intended withdrawal of a pupil. Failing this, fees for the following term are payable in full. No exceptions can be made to this rule.
