About Us

Hurlingham Nursery School, formerly Lion House School, was incorporated into the Hurlingham family in September 2017.  We are delighted that, having offered a first-class education between the ages of 4 and 11 for many years at the main Hurlingham site on the Putney Bridge Road, we are now able to offer families the option of nursery provision from the ages of 2 to 4. Children may start the nursery the term after a their second birthday. There is a guaranteed place for every nursery child at age 4 into the main school, should parents wish their son or daughter to undertake a traditional primary education culminating in 11+ transfer into senior education.

We fully appreciate the appeal and benefits of outdoor education in the natural world, whilst simultaneously understanding parents’ desire to ensure the academic readiness for school of their four year old. We will be offering the option of a 20:80 split for our children rising four, enabling one day per week in a "Forest School" setting and up to another four days each week in our newly refurbished nursery with its excellent modern facilities, including a dedicated exercise and music studio.

We endeavour to help working parents by offering wrap around care.  There is a Tea Club option from the end of lessons until 6 pm Monday to Friday.  Tea club is available to all children and will include a light meal and activities. We also offer a Holiday Club from 8.30 am to 5 pm for 6 weeks of the holidays throughout the year.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact the Office who will be happy to answer any questions and arrange a visit.
