Our Hurlingham Community is an important part of who we are; what we role-model and how we include our wider community in our school. We have a strong parent body supporting our PTA efforts, but also our staff and pupils supporting our Community Hub.
The Hurlingham Community Hub is a distinctive, school-wide initiative rooted in a shared desire among staff and parents to give back meaningfully to the wider community.
Launched in 2023–24, it moves beyond traditional fundraising by creating an open, inclusive framework where anyone in the Hurlingham community can lead or participate in purposeful, community-focused activities. With no fixed targets or central ownership, the Hub thrives on collaboration, flexibility and shared responsibility, enabling a wide range of partnerships, volunteering opportunities and outreach projects to emerge organically.
Early feedback from parents, staff and partners has been overwhelmingly positive, with pupils gaining a deeper understanding of empathy, social responsibility and leadership through the adult role-modelling they see around them. Embedded within teaching, enrichment and PSHE, the Community Hub reflects Hurlingham’s ethos of Enriched Learning, Enriched Environment and Enriched Community, ensuring this is not a one-off initiative, but a lasting cultural commitment to connection, belonging and positive social impact.
