Registration and Admissions

Children are able to join our Nursery as soon as they have reached two years of age. However, you may register with us at any time. Indeed, the earlier you do so the better.

As a first step, we encourage families to visit us to see our wonderful provision. This can be arranged by completing an Enquiry Form and our Nursery Team will be in touch to book your appointment. A private tour is the opportunity to experience, first-hand, not only the fabulous, light and spacious physical space, but also to get a real sense of the warm and nurturing environment created by our team of excellent practitioners. 

You will learn about how the children’s sessions are structured during the different stages of their time in the Nursery, their learning pathway with us, the options available to you and them, and have an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.

The Admission Process

Although it is recommended that you visit us first, you do need to have visited us in order to register and be offered a place.

Register

Parents complete an Online Registration Form. Places at the Nursery are offered in order of registration, so we recommend this is done as early as possible. Priority is given to siblings of existing pupils in the Nursery or main school.

It is worth noting that all pupils who attend Hurlingham Nursery are guaranteed a place at Hurlingham Prep.

Offer

Once registered, families request that an offer letter is sent to them. This offer is subject to the availability of sessions for your intended start date. The offer letter includes an Acceptance Form which along with our Terms and Conditions form a legally binding contract and should be read carefully.

Acceptance

In order to secure a place, both parents will need to electronically sign the completed Acceptance Form, together with the Acceptance Fee** of £2,000 by the date stipulated in the offer letter.
For those Nursery pupils taking up the offer of a place at the Hurlingham School at the end of their Pre-School year, the deposit, subject to your consent, is transferred to the Hurlingham School as the 'School Acceptance Fee'.

Following receipt of your Acceptance Form and Acceptance Fee, you will receive confirmation of:
  • Your child’s start date
  • The number and times of the sessions* they have been allocated. (Should you wish to vary these, particularly if you want to increase the number of sessions, please let us know as early as possible so that we can try to accommodate your request).
  • Proposed dates for the ‘settling in’ sessions your child is invited to attend in advance of starting with us

Once the number of sessions has been confirmed, you will need to give a full term’s notice in writing should you wish to reduce this number, or you will be required to pay for the original number of sessions for the following term.

*We offer morning sessions, Monday to Friday 8.00am to midday and afternoon sessions, Monday to Friday, from midday to 4.00pm.
**The Acceptance Fee is non-refundable should your child not join Hurlingham Nursery.

On your child’s first day, the Acceptance Fee will be converted to a deposit. This will be retained by the Nursery until your child leaves, when it will be returned to you once all outstanding fees and charges have been met, and provided a term’s written notice of intention to withdraw has been received by the Head of the Nursery or Headmaster, prior to the first day of the preceding term.

  • Pale blue polo shirt with Hurlingham logo
  • Navy sweatshirt with Hurlingham logo
A choice of:
  • Navy joggers or leggings in winter
  • Navy shorts for warm days in the Autumn and Summer term
  • Rain suit (for Forest School only, purchased by school and invoiced to you)
  • Any shoes with velcro fastenings only
  • Drawstring bag for nappies and spare clothes (Hurlingham version available from Perry Uniform)

Optional items

  • Navy Fleece with Hurlingham logo
  • Raincoat with Hurlingham logo from Serious Stuff (details to follow)
  • Beanie hat in Grey with sky blue stripe
  • Grey gloves and scarf

Perry Uniform 

The majority of our Nursery uniform is purchased from Perry Uniform online. The easiest way to size your uniform is by using Perry’s online sizing utility. This is particularly helpful as different suppliers of individual items may use different sizing specifications. With a secure password protected registration facility, you can enter your child’s measurements and place a ‘Quick Order’. From these measurements, they will assess the right size for your child.
