Session Requirements
Our youngest Nursery learners are required to attend a minimum of four sessions per week. Once the children reach our Pre-School year (the academic year that they turn 4 years old) they are required to attend a minimum of six sessions. We recommend children build up to ten or thereabouts by the end of the academic year in preparation for being full time in their Reception Class. This will help to help ensure they are ‘school-ready’. Older children participating in our Forest School option will need to be in school for both morning and afternoon sessions on the allocated day for their group.

Fees To Note:
- Fees quoted do not include compulsory pupil accident insurance which is charged at £5 per pupil per term.
- Ad hoc sessions are charged at £80 each.
- The cost of lunch is included in the fees above for all nursery school pupils attending full day or afternoon sessions.
- The third and fourth child sibling discount will remain at 20% for the youngest siblings of all families with three or more children at either Hurlingham Nursery School and/or Hurlingham School simultaneously.

15 and 30 Hour – Government Funded Early Education
We offer the government universal 15-hour funding, which provides funding for a nursery education place for up for 15 hours per week to all 3 and 4 year olds and an additional 15 hours funding for those who qualify. To check eligibility for 30 hours of funding please visit gov.uk.
Children are eligible for the funding from the term after they turn 3.
The child’s 3rd birthday must fall on or before August 31 (for Autumn Term), December 31 (for Spring Term) and March 31 (for Summer Term) to be eligible for the funding from the following term. We will apply to Wandsworth council on behalf of parents once a child is eligible.
Please be aware that we provide services and other items in addition to childcare that are not subject to government funding. They include additional privately funded hours, food and drink, wipes, sun cream, emergency medication, and the rich programme of enrichment sessions provided by the Nursery, including weekly Yoga, Music and Mindfulness, Gymnastics, Forest School, and Gardening for all classes.
The Government’s Early Years Funding does not cover the cost of these, nor is it intended to. However, we believe these enhance children’s learning, wellbeing, and readiness for school. Our inclusive approach means that we want every child at Hurlingham to enjoy the same experiences, opportunities, and high-quality care. That said, families in receipt of funding are able to ‘opt out’ of these additional services and items. To discuss this option, please speak to the Head of Nursery.
In order to assist parents, it is our intention to continue to participate in this scheme. However, we are not able to guarantee this indefinitely, as the regulatory complexity and administrative burden for the school increases periodically and may become too onerous.
Notice of Withdrawal
We require one full term’s notice in writing to the Head of Nursery, on or before the first day of term of the intended withdrawal of a pupil. Failing this, fees for the following term are payable in full. Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made to this rule.
